As Partner, Vice President of Engineering, and a Principal Engineer at High Energy, Inc., Ruth Johnson applies her 20 years of experience in electrical engineering ranging from operations and maintenance to construction of electrical substations at voltages from13.8 to 500kV throughout the United States. Her background provides High Energy, Inc. with a well-balanced combination of both technical and managerial expertise.

Prior to joining High Energy Inc., Ruth served the Western Area Power Administration for 15 years in increasingly responsible positions as Senior Electrical Engineer, Manager of Outdoor Electrical Substation Design, and Maintenance Engineering Manager. Her expertise includes developing system interconnection agreements, developing standards for design, construction and O&M, creating presentations on capital improvement programs, performing facility studies, designing high voltage substations, troubleshooting field problems, providing recommendations for on-line monitoring devices, and conducting special testing and life extension studies for major equipment.

Ruth is highly skilled in project and program management. She is also an expert in equipment specifications, procurement, factory inspections, and warranty issue resolution. She has spent time teaching and training at Western Area Power Administration's Electric Power Training Center, Xcel Energy, and many other venues.

Ruth earned her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at the University of Colorado-Boulder. She is a past member of EPRI Transmission and Distribution Advisory Group and is an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. She is a registered professional electrical engineer in Colorado, California, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
