As a member of Black and Veatch Team, inspected many PG&E power plants (nuclear, fossil fuel, hydro, geothermal), and prepared conceptual designs and cost estimates for refurbishing power plant metering systems as required by California ISO.

As a member of joint venture team (where majority of the team were present employees of HEI), performed an evaluation of all generation, transmission and distribution assets, and prepared a report for the SEC. Generation assets included Palo Verde nuclear power plant and several major fossil fuel plants. In addition to evaluating physical condition of facilities, the O&M practices were evaluated through interviewing PNM personnel and reviewing O&M records. Recommendations were prepared on what will need to be done in the future to maintain high level of service and reliability. This highly complex work was accomplished in eight days.

As a subcontractor to Kinectrics, HEI provided services of the licensed professional civil engineer as required for reviewing drawings and specifications for the SNWA Hydro Energy Recovery Project in the state of Nevada. These services were required for the procurement of a hydroturbine, and covered mechanical, electrical and civil aspects of the project.

Provided support to the innovative urban development project in Colorado, powered largely by solar energy, by reviewing specifications and by coordinating interconnection requirements with the local utility.
